When I first viewed the house I was captivated by the courtyard at the rear, and the history of the house, however having viewed it several times online I was really keen to see the loft. I wasn't disappointed, from the moment I stepped into this beautiful space it was love. I walked around the room and stared at the views of the Lighthouse. I didn't want to leave, I knew I could put my stamp on this house. I love interior design and resorting properties has long been a passion of mine.
It is safe to say I bought the house for the loft!
I knew it would inspire me to write and relax, clients always comment on what a beautiful space it is for therapy.
We all have lofty ideas and ambitions throughout our life, I love to work with people on helping them find their highest and truest self.... from my loft come the lessons. I hope you find interesting ideas here to inspire you.

Addictions and Compulsive behaviour
Understanding our addictions

Life is a joyful adventure… er not always it can sometimes be extremely painful. However the amazing thing is that the human spirit is so ingenious in the ways it yearns to be free of pain. Humans create wonderful and powerful strategies to work through the pain. Compulsive behaviour and addictions are both well-worn paths to avoid pain.
I will eat, drink, sniff, take XYZ in order not to feel ABC.
I will shop, gamble, run, game in order not to feel ABC.
A compulsion or addiction also keeps others at a distance, when you are lost in your drug of choice it is easy to shut out the demands of others. You are mostly running this life script unconsciously; your addiction puts a huge valley between you and the people who you are close to you.
While you and your addiction build walls to shut others out, you also close yourself in. You become isolated and you stop living and growing.
The greatest sadness is that all we are is change, we are born to grow emotionally at every stage of our life. Addictions stop the growth that we are born to, they shut out the world and keep us isolated and alone. Breaking through the walls begins by acknowledging the feelings you don’t want to feel. In therapy you have with you a skilled guide, a champion, a warrior to be your witness.
I work closely with you to look at your compulsive and addictive behaviour, gently being your guide as we navigate the pain you have been avoiding. Looking at making peace with what is whilst also working together to develop strategies that support us rather than limit us.
Talking helps, where should be we begin?
