Before you begin therapy, I will share with you a Privacy Statement which we will both sign.
Your personal information is stored securely and confidentially.
How is your data used?
The data collected is used to enable effective communication during the therapeutic process. It is used safely and in an ethical manner and is line with the EU General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
Who is the data controller?
For the purposes of General Data Protection Regulations, the data controller is Christina Bebbington at Lighthouse Therapy.
Sharing Data
It may become necessary to share your data with a third party if I feel you, or someone else close to you, is at risk of significant harm. Unless the risk is imminent, this will be discussed with you before disclosure to relevant authorities. I have a legal obligation to break confidentiality in compliance with a court order, child protection concerns and information regarding acts of terrorism, money laundering, human or drug trafficking.
How long is data stored?
In accordance with insurance regulations, your contact details and any session notes are held securely and confidentially for 5 years after the therapeutic process has ended, at which point they will be deleted or destroyed.
- You have the right to access a copy of your personal data.
- You have the right to request correction or erasure of personal data unless I, as your psychotherapist, have to legally retain this.
- You have the right to transfer your data to a third party.
